HR data security and personal data protection

TEMPO is an online HRIS, from staff management to time and attendance, designed to protect the personal data of employees of companies in Morocco. Each company has an isolated workspace, administration accounts require two-step verification, everyone sees only their scope, every sensitive action is logged and salaries are encrypted and masked.

Is your company’s data separated from other customers’ data?

Yes. Each company has its own workspace, at its own address, and isolation is closed by default: a request that does not know which workspace it is working in fails instead of returning everything. This separation is checked by automated tests on every software change.

How is access to TEMPO protected?

  • Two-step verification

    Required for accounts that manage, configure or close payroll.

  • Attempt lockout

    Repeated failures lock the sign-in.

  • Immediate suspension

    Suspending access immediately closes its open sessions.

  • Passwords

    An administrator never chooses another user’s password.

  • Encrypted connections

    Everything goes over HTTPS, files through time-limited signed links.

How do you limit what each user sees?

Permissions define what a user can do (approve leave, manage time clocks, close payroll); the data scope defines for whom: their team, their sites or the whole company.

No one can change their own roles or widen their own scope.

How are salaries and sensitive data protected?

Net salary, net hourly rate and bank details (RIB) are encrypted in the database and masked on screen. Only authorized people can reveal them, each reveal is logged, and they never appear in a default export.

What does the activity log contain?

The activity log records who created, changed or deleted an employee, a punch, a leave request or a role, with the old and new value of each field. Sign-ins and reveals of sensitive data are recorded too.

What does law 09-08 say about time and attendance and biometrics?

In Morocco, law n° 09-08 protects personal data, under the supervision of the CNDP; the employer, as data controller, completes the required formalities.

TEMPO limits biometric data:

  • fingerprints are captured on the time clock, and any stored template is encrypted;
  • a badge or PIN code replaces biometrics on most time clocks;
  • the selfie when clocking in by phone can be turned off per site.

For details, read the guide biometric time clocks and the CNDP.

Questions fréquentes

Must time and attendance software be declared to the CNDP?

Processing employee data, and biometrics in particular, falls under law 09-08 and the supervision of the CNDP. It is the employer, as data controller, who files the declaration or authorization request. TEMPO limits biometric data: fingerprints captured on the time clock, encrypted templates, badges possible, selfie can be turned off.

Who can see salaries in TEMPO?

Only people with permission to view sensitive data, and only for employees within their scope. Net salary, net hourly rate and bank details are encrypted, masked on screen, left out of default exports, and each reveal is recorded in the activity log without the value.

Is two-factor authentication mandatory?

It is mandatory for accounts that manage, configure, view the activity log or close payroll: without it, these accounts cannot do anything else in TEMPO. It relies on an authenticator app and recovery codes. Employees can turn it on if they wish.

Can you find out who changed a punch or a leave request?

Yes. The TEMPO activity log records who created, changed or deleted a punch, a leave request, an absence, an employee or a role, when, and which values changed. Balance adjustments keep their reason. The log is viewed with a dedicated permission, protected by two-factor authentication.
