How does TEMPO calculate the paid leave balance?
By default, TEMPO credits 1.5 days per month of service (2 days under 18), adds 1.5 days per 5-year period of seniority and caps the total at 30 days a year. Each value can be changed in the leave policy.
Every balance movement (days earned, leave taken, adjustments, expired days) keeps its date and origin: the balance can always be explained line by line.

Are public holidays and rest days deducted from leave?
No. Public holidays and the employee’s rest days, read from their schedule, are excluded automatically, and the summary shows them before the request is sent. An employee whose rest day is Tuesday does not lose that Tuesday.
The dates for each year are in the guide public holidays in Morocco.
How does a leave request go from submission to approval?
- 1
The employee submits a request
From their phone (employee portal) or the web, with a supporting document if needed.
- 2
The summary shows the count
Days counted, days excluded and remaining balance appear before sending.
- 3
The approval workflow applies
Each approver is notified and decides from their “To approve” inbox.
- 4
Approved leave updates everything
The balance is debited, attendance reports follow and the leave form can be printed.
Which approval workflows can you configure?
One workflow per scope
One workflow per request type, site, department or employee.
Steps and approvers
Manager, the manager’s manager, an HR role or a named person.
Conditions
For example, management approval beyond 10 days.
Reminders and escalation
Approvers get reminders, then the request moves to the backup approver.
Delegation
An absent approver names who approves in their place.
Which leave types does TEMPO handle?
You start with the types common in Morocco: annual leave, marriage, birth, bereavement, circumcision, house move, maternity and time off in lieu. For each, you set the balance debited, the maximum number of days and the required attachment.
Time off in lieu has its own balance, credited by hand or from overtime.
How do you keep the leave register required by the Labour Code?
The leave register (article 246) can be downloaded in Excel or PDF for a year, employee by employee: opening balance, days earned, leave taken, expired days and closing balance.
Managers also have a team calendar showing, month by month, who is on leave.

Questions fréquentes
How many days of annual leave in Morocco?
The Labour Code provides 1.5 days per month of service, i.e. 18 days a year, and 2 days a month for an employee under 18. On top of that come 1.5 days per 5-year period of seniority, up to 30 days a year. TEMPO applies these values by default and lets you adapt them.
Are public holidays counted in leave?
No. TEMPO automatically removes public holidays and the employee’s weekly rest days from a leave request. The summary shows the excluded dates before sending, and the leave form lists them, which avoids disputes over the balance.
Can an employee request leave from their phone?
Yes. From the TEMPO employee portal, which can be installed on a phone’s home screen, the employee checks their balances, submits a leave request with a supporting document and tracks its approval. Their manager is notified on their phone and can approve from their “To approve” inbox.
Can you replace the Excel leave tracking file?
Yes. You enter each employee’s opening balance and calculation start date, then TEMPO credits days every month, debits approved leave and keeps the annual register, downloadable in Excel or PDF. Every balance movement keeps its date and origin.
