How does TEMPO decide that an hour is overtime?
An hour is overtime when it exceeds the threshold you choose:
- the day’s planned duration (default);
- 44 hours per week, the legal working time of article 184;
- none, for flat-rate positions.
On a weekly rest day or public holiday, every minute worked is overtime.
How does the calculation work on a real day?
- Office 09:00–17:00, clock-out at 17:05: 7 regular hours and 5 minutes at 25%.
- Rest day, from 10:00 to 14:00: 4 hours at 50%.
- Public holiday, from 22:00 to 02:00: 4 hours at 100%.
“Explain the calculation” shows which time range goes into which column. To calculate by hand, use the overtime calculator.
How do you avoid paying for a few minutes over?
Set a tolerance: below this threshold, extra minutes are not paid but stay visible. With 15 minutes, a clock-out at 17:14 for a 17:00 finish pays nothing, a clock-out at 17:20 pays 20 minutes.
Can you apply company-specific overtime rules?
Yes. Define bands by day, time range and rate, for example 25% from 17:00 to 19:00 then 75% from 19:00 to 23:00. TEMPO rejects any rate below the legal scale, and “Simulate” shows a rule’s effect on the past month before you apply it.
Can you give time off instead of paying the hours?
Yes. In time off in lieu mode, overtime becomes rest hours, hour for hour. The balance is credited when payroll is closed and the employee then books it like leave.

How is overtime calculated in Morocco in TEMPO?
Minutes worked beyond the day’s planned duration, or beyond 44 hours per week depending on the setting, are overtime. By default, TEMPO applies a premium of 25% by day and 50% at night on a working day, 50% and 100% on a rest day or public holiday, under article 201 of the Labour Code. These rates can be changed.
Is Sunday work counted as overtime?
If Sunday is the employee’s planned rest day, yes: every minute worked that day is overtime, at 50% by day and 100% at night by default. If the employee has another rest day and normally works on Sunday, it is a working day like any other.
Can overtime be calculated over the week?
Yes. With the “44 hours per week” threshold, TEMPO adds up the regular hours worked from Monday to Sunday and turns anything over 44 hours into overtime, starting from the last minutes worked, while keeping day and night hours separate.
How do you export overtime for payroll?
The payroll period’s activity statement gives, per employee, regular hours and hours at 25, 50 and 100%. It exports to Excel, and the payroll integration report carries these figures in the format your payroll software expects, so nothing is re-keyed.
