Weatherproof outdoor time clock (IP65) in Morocco

TEMPO is an online HRIS for companies in Morocco whose time and attendance module connects weatherproof outdoor ZKTeco and Hikvision time clocks installed at a gate, in a yard or on a construction site. The terminal withstands dust and rain; TEMPO collects its punches, including those recorded during an outage, and calculates hours.

What does IP65 mean for a time clock?

IP65 means the housing is fully protected against dust and against water jets, under the IEC 60529 standard. It is the minimum for a time clock mounted outdoors; IP66 and above suit wash-down areas.

For Morocco, also check the operating temperature on the model’s datasheet.

Can a time clock withstand the Moroccan summer heat?

Yes, with a model built for outdoors: -10 to 55 °C for the ZKTeco MA300 and -30 to 60 °C for the Hikvision DS-K1T344MX-E1, according to their datasheets.

Fit a canopy above the terminal and prefer a wall in the shade in the afternoon.

Dust, chergui and construction sites: what should you plan for?

On a construction site, card or face work better than fingerprint, which cement dust and damaged hands get in the way of. Wipe the reading surface with a dry cloth each week during chergui season.

Does the sun affect an outdoor face time clock?

A low sun behind the employee creates backlight. Place the terminal with its back to the morning and evening sun, under a deep enough canopy, and test at the actual clock-in times.

How do you connect an outdoor time clock to the software?

A single network cable that also carries power (PoE) is the cleanest solution; on a construction site, a 4G router is enough. Punches then arrive in TEMPO as for any time clock, and those recorded during an outage are collected when it ends.

Details are on the time clock installation page.

Which type of time clock for outdoors?

  • Factory gate, logistics yard

    Constraints
Rain, sun, rush at shift changes
    Good choice
IP65 face under a canopy, card as fallback
  • Construction site

    Constraints
    Dust, damaged hands
    Good choice
IP65 card or face with a 4G router, or phone clock-in
  • Farm

    Constraints
    Heat, dust, seasonal staff
    Good choice
IP65 card, or phone with GPS
  • Guard post

    Constraints
    Night clock-ins, few passages
    Good choice
    IP65 fingerprint or face

Questions fréquentes

What is an IP65 time clock?

It is a time clock whose housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets, under the IEC 60529 standard. It is the minimum level for a terminal mounted outdoors, at a gate or on a construction site. Also check the model’s operating temperature, which matters a lot in Morocco.

Can a time clock stay in full sun in Morocco?

Best avoided, even with an outdoor model. In summer, the screen and housing get hotter than the air. Fit a canopy, choose a wall in the shade during the hot hours and check the model’s operating range: outdoor models are often rated up to 55 or 60 °C.

Which time clock for a construction site?

An IP65 card or facial recognition time clock, connected through a 4G router, suits a long-running site. For short or scattered sites, clocking in from a phone with TEMPO, with GPS location and selfie, avoids installing a terminal. Hours are calculated the same way.

What happens if the outdoor time clock loses the network?

It keeps recognizing employees and recording punches in its memory. When the link returns, TEMPO collects the missing ones, with no duplicates. An offline time clock is listed in the daily email sent to the site’s managers.
