How does TEMPO turn punches into hours worked?
With each new punch, TEMPO recalculates the employee’s day from their punches, schedule and attendance policy. You get a status (present, partial, absent, leave, holiday, rest) and counters ready for payroll.
Duplicates are discarded, the break is deducted, leave and holidays are credited, and a night from 22:00 to 06:00 stays a single day. The Explain the calculation button shows each step on a timeline.
Which calculation mode should you choose?
| Mode | What is counted | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | From first to last punch, break deducted | Offices and shops |
| Ins and outs | In-out pairs only | Teams that punch every exit |
| By schedule | Time spent during scheduled slots | Jobs with strict hours |

The three calculation modes of an attendance policy
How do you set grace periods for lateness and early departure?
A grace period sets the threshold below which a gap is ignored. With 15 minutes, arriving at 09:14 for a 09:00 start counts no lateness, arriving at 09:20 counts 20 minutes.
These rules live in policies you assign to a site, a department or an employee: a warehouse and a head office can follow different rules.
How are normal hours and overtime separated?
Minutes that fill the day’s planned duration are normal hours, the rest is daytime or night overtime. By default, TEMPO applies the scale of article 201 of the Labour Code (25%, 50% or 100%) and can also count beyond 44 hours a week. Details on the overtime page.
Which attendance reports do you get?
Every report exports to Excel, CSV or PDF.
Daily report
Who is in, late, absent or missing an exit, site by site.
Weekly report
Each employee’s week, worked against scheduled.
Individual report
One employee’s days over a period.
Period report
Fortnight or month, with a payroll-ready view.
Simulation
Recalculate a period with other rules, without saving anything.
What happens when you correct a punch or a schedule?
The day and the reports are recalculated at once, and each correction is logged with its reason in the activity log. A closed pay period stays locked: a late correction is carried over to the next period.
Questions fréquentes
How does time management work in TEMPO?
Each employee day is calculated from their punches, schedule and attendance policy. TEMPO removes duplicates and the break, measures late arrivals and early departures, credits leave and holidays, then separates normal hours from daytime or night overtime. Every calculation can be explained step by step.
Is a night shift counted on a single day?
Yes. A shift belongs to the day it starts: a night from 22:00 to 06:00 or a 24-hour duty gives a single calculated day. You do not end up with two incomplete days to fix by hand, and night hours are counted at the right rate.
Can you have different rules for different sites?
Yes. Calculation rules are grouped into attendance policies, which you assign to a site, a department or an employee. The employee follows the most specific policy that applies to them. A warehouse and a head office can have different calculation modes and grace periods.
Can attendance reports be exported to Excel?
Yes. Daily, weekly, period and access control reports export to Excel, CSV or PDF, with the filters shown on screen (dates, site, department, employee). The period report offers a view designed for payroll, with the period’s totals.
