Payroll preparation in Morocco, from punch to payslip

TEMPO is an HRIS for companies in Morocco. Its payroll preparation module turns a month’s punches, leave, absences and overtime into checked variable payroll items, freezes them when the period closes, exports them in the format of your payroll software or accounting firm, then distributes payslips to employees.

What does TEMPO do to prepare payroll?

It calculates and checks everything that varies from one month to the next, then hands it to the tool that calculates payslips. No more re-keying from attendance sheets: at month end, HR reviews the anomalies, closes the period and exports a file with one row per employee.

When the payslips are ready, they are uploaded in bulk to TEMPO and each employee receives theirs on their phone.

How does a pay period close?

  1. 1

    The period opens

One period per month, from the 1st to the last day or from the 26th to the 25th.

  2. 2

    Anomaly review

Anomalies you consider blocking must be handled before closing.

  3. 3

    Closing

Days are frozen and the activity statement is saved as is.

  4. 4

    Corrections after closing

A late correction is carried over to the next period, without erasing anything.

What does a period’s activity statement contain?

  • Attendance, normal hours

    Source
    Sum of the calculated days
  • Overtime at 25%, 50%, 100%

    Source
    Each employee’s overtime rules
  • Leave and absence days, by type

    Source
Approved requests, excluding public holidays and rest days
  • Unauthorized absences

  • Advances and deductions

    The month’s instalments

One row per employee, exportable to Excel or PDF.

How do you export variable items to your payroll software?

The integration report gives one row per employee, in days (monthly staff) or in hours by rate (hourly staff), advances and deductions included. Export templates follow the columns and order your payroll software or accounting firm expects, in Excel or CSV.

Each export is kept as a version, with its differences from the previous one.

Which other payroll items does TEMPO handle?

  • Salary advances

Approved through a workflow, then deducted in 1 to 12 instalments.

  • Payslip distribution

Bulk upload of the PDFs, then each employee is notified.

  • Overtime

Paid or converted into time off in lieu. See overtime.

  • Salary certificates

Generated from templates, at the employee’s request.

  • Protected salaries

Net salary and bank details (RIB) are encrypted and masked from unauthorized people.

Questions fréquentes

What are variable payroll items?

They are the data that change from one month to the next: days worked, normal hours, overtime by rate, leave and absence days, public holidays, time off in lieu, advances and deductions. In TEMPO, they are calculated from punches and approved requests, then frozen when the period closes.

Can you export hours to Excel or payroll software?

Yes. The TEMPO integration report exports to Excel, and export templates let you choose the columns, their order, their headers and the format (Excel or CSV) your payroll software or accounting firm expects. Each export is kept as a version.

How do you distribute payslips to employees?

Upload the month’s PDF payslips in one go, named with the employee ID, year and month. TEMPO matches them to employees, flags files it does not recognize, then publishes them: each employee is notified and downloads their payslip from their portal, on their phone.
